WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?
Though the word “acid” may sound scary in reference to something you put on your face, don’t worry. Hyaluronic acid doesn’t burn. It actually does quite the opposite.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural moisturizer and humectant, meaning it’s able to draw water into the skin up to 1000 times its weight in water!
Hyaluronic acid in facial products packs a ton of skin-boosting benefits because it basically acts like a sponge for your face by attracting and retaining water. And by drawing in moisture, it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by dehydration and aging, so your skin looks fuller, smoother, and more supple.
⠀⠀
Hyaluronic acid doesn’t contain any water on its own, so the more moisture you use with it, the better it works. So, make sure your skin is damp before you apply a moisturizer or serum that contains it.
⠀⠀
It’s great for all skin types but it especially works wonders on dehydrated skin. So, this affects anyone exposed to travel conditions, dry climate, air conditioning and/or non-radiator heat.
SKIN TIP: Drinking water, using a humidifier, and using skincare with hyaluronic acid will give you glowing greatness!

CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS
I have two recommendations for hyaluronic aid serums:
⠀⠀
1. Drunk Elephant’s B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum ($52)
I have been using this hyaluronic acid serum for and I am such a fan of their reformulation. Check out my mini-review of B-Hydra on my Instagram page here.
2. The Plant Base Waterfall Moist Balanced Hyaluronic Acid 100 ($23)
I like this serum because there aren’t any other ingredients but the hyaluronic acid in this. It’s economical and effective. It does have a thicker consistency though. Check out my review of this hyaluronic acid serum on my Instagram page here.
ON THE WISHLIST
I am dying to try Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Darker Skin Tones Hyaluronic Serum but it’s out of my price range right now.
