#OlayBodyLabs Event: NEW Launch & Live Podcast Taping with Keke Palmer

Earlier this week, I attended the Olay Body Labs event to celebrate the release of their new body/skincare line and learn more about the new premium body collection. It was an evening of hydrating elixirs, science demos, and a live taping of Allure’s podcast series with Olay Body partner, Keke Palmer.

During the event, I had the pleasure of speaking with one of Olay’s Senior Scientists, Dr. Maiysha Jones, who educated me on the focus of the new line. She discussed how we give so much attention to the skin on our faces, but we tend to neglect the skin on our bodies. This new collection of body washes are made with ingredients we usually see in facial skincare products, such as Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), Vitamin C, Collagen, and other essential ingredients for the health and maintenance of your skin.

NEW PREMIUM BODY WASHES:

What I was particularly intrigued with were their in-shower body conditioners! The philosophy behind this product is similar to hair care. You condition your hair, so why not condition your skin? The body conditioner works to stop dry skin before you even get out of the shower. Supposedly, this formula is so moisturizing that you won’t need to apply moisturizer out of the shower unless you want to. The skin on my body gets really dry, so I’ll make sure to keep you posted on the results once I try it.

NEW RINSE-OFF BODY CONDITIONERS:

Lastly, I had the opportunity to be an audience member at the live taping of Allure’s podcast series with Olay Body partner, Keke Palmer.

This is a platform Allure launched in 2018 that takes a deep dive into the beauty industry through discussions with the people who are reshaping it. In each episode, the Editor in Chief of Allure, Michelle Lee, is joined by influential voices in beauty, fashion, entertainment, and beyond to discuss all things beauty. The topics can range from representation and diversity in the media to the importance of self-acceptance and self-care to the latest in beauty innovations and obsessions, as told by each guest’s inspiring personal journey.

Here are some snippets from the live taping with Keke Palmer:

It’s exciting to see brands focus on body care like they do face care. And as someone who is making body care more of a focus in 2020, I’ll be delving deeper into how products like these work better than some of their older formulas.

FYI:

I will be testing out the Vitamin C body wash and the shea butter body conditioner. But, for all of my eczema-prone readers, or for those sensitive to fragrance, all of these new products contain fragrance. Dr. Jones suggests the Olay Sensitive Moisture Unscented Body Wash as an alternative for those who are sensitive to fragrance. Formulated with Olay’s Vitamin B3 Complex, this body wash hydrates to plump surface skin cells and locks in natural moisture.

Be sure to look out for a review in the coming months. And for more information on Olay’s new products, check out their website and their Instagram page.
